Breaking False Flag: Lone wolf terror suspect arrested in New York --News conference by mayor, police commissioner, and Manhattan district attorney underway 20 Nov 2011 A person close to a New York City police investigation says a Manhattan resident suspected of plotting to bomb various targets, including police cars, has been arrested. The person told The Associated Press that the 27-year-old man was acting as a lone wolf and was taken into custody Saturday. He allegedly was inspired by al-Qaida [al-CIAduh], although his citizenship was not immediately known.
Al Qaeda sympathizer plotted to bomb police, N.Y. mayor says --Suspect is identified as 'lone wolf' American citizen 20 Nov 2011 Mayor Michael Bloomberg said Sunday an 'Al Qaeda' sympathizer who plotted to bomb police and post offices in New York City has been arrested on numerous charges. Bloomberg announced the Saturday arrest of 27-year-old Jose Pimentel of Manhattan, a U.S. citizen originally from the Dominican Republic. "He appears to be a total lone wolf. There is no evidence that he worked with anyone else," the mayor said at a news conference. Pimentel is accused of having an explosive substance that he planned to use against others and property to terrorize the public.
New York police arrest man trying to build bomb --Pimentel had been under surveillance since May 2009 and was a 'lone wolf.' 20 Nov 2011 New York officials said on Sunday police had arrested a man trying to build a pipe bomb with instructions from an 'al Qaeda'  magazine which he planned to use against U.S. soldiers returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. The suspect - identified as Jose Pimentel, 27 - was charged with three terrorism-related counts and two other counts, court documents said. Beyond soldiers, his intended targets were allegedly police officers and post offices, Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said at a joint news conference with New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg and District Attorney Cyrus Vance, the chief prosecutor for Manhattan.

Fake terror plots, paid informants: the tactics of FBI 'entrapment' questioned --Critics say bureau is running a sting operation across America, targeting vulnerable people by luring them into fake terror plots 16 Nov 2011 Even more shocking was that the organisation, money, weapons and motivation for this plot did not come from real Islamic terrorists. It came from the FBI, and an informant paid to pose as a terrorist mastermind paying big bucks for help in carrying out an attack... Critics say the FBI is running a sting operation across America, targeting – to a large extent – the Muslim community by luring people into fake terror plots.

The Grid: A Digital Frontier --Repost of loldhs pr0f By A Guest 18 Nov 2011 So, early this morning I was linked to an article about SCADA pumps from someone in IRC... My eyes were drawn, nary, pulled, to a particular quote. 'In an email sent several hours after this article was first published, DHS spokesman Peter Boogaard wrote: "DHS and the FBI are gathering facts surrounding the report of a water pump failure in Springfield Illinois. At this time there is no credible corroborated data that indicates a risk to critical infrastructure entities or a threat to public safety."' This was stupid. You know. Insanely stupid. I dislike, immensely, how the DHS tend to downplay how absolutely F*CKED the state of national infrastructure is... So, y'know. The city of South Houston has a really insecure system.
Second water utility reportedly hit by hack attack --Proof-of-concept intrusion 18 Nov 2011 Images posted online suggest that hackers may have gained unauthorized access to computers controlling a second water treatment facility, a claim that raises additional concerns about of the security of the US's critical infrastructure. Five computer screenshots posted early Friday purport to show the user interface used to monitor and control equipment at the Water and Sewer Department for the City of South Houston, Texas.
Water utility hackers destroy pump, expert says --SCADA breach 'a really big deal' 17 Nov 2011 Hackers destroyed a pump used by a US water utility after gaining unauthorized access to the industrial control system it used to operate its machinery, a computer security expert said.  Joe Weiss, a managing partner for Applied Control Solutions, said the breach was most likely performed after the attackers hacked into the maker of the supervisory control and data acquisition software used by the utility and stole user names and passwords belonging to the manufacturer's customers.
Nuclear plant water leak probed 19 Nov 2011 (NC) The Nuclear Regulatory Commission will conduct a special investigation at Progress Energy's Brunswick nuclear plant near Wilmington after a highly unusual mishap an accident caused boiling water to flow out of a reactor chamber that was not sealed properly. The federal agency said Friday inspectors will spend much of next week at the twin reactor Brunswick plant to determine what went wrong. Raleigh-based Progress also is investigating incident at the Unit 2 reactor.
Fukushima nuclear fallout spread through oceans, researchers say 17 Nov 2011 Most of the radioactive fallout from the disaster at the Fukushima nuclear plant dropped into the ocean and began circling the planet, Japanese researchers say. Up to 80 per cent of the caesium released by the Fukushima Daiichi power plant after the March 11 disaster landed in the Pacific and made its way into other oceans around the world, scientists at the Meteorological Research Institute said. "The rest has fallen on land" in and around Fukushima, said Hiroshi Takahashi, a researcher at the institute in Ibaraki, northeast of Tokyo.
Future cancers from Fukushima plant may be hidden 20 Nov 2011 Even if the worst nuclear accident in 25 years leads to many people developing cancer, we may never find out. Several experts inside and outside Japan told The Associated Press that cancers caused by the radiation may be too few to show up in large population studies, like the long-term survey just getting under way in Fukushima.
Fukushima, Tokyo saw fewer births in April-June amid radiation fears 18 Nov 2011 The number of births between April and June fell significantly in nuclear crisis-hit Fukushima Prefecture as well as Tokyo and two neighboring prefectures, while more deliveries were recorded in northern and western Japan further away from the center of radiation contamination, a recent survey showed. The Japan Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, which conducted the nationwide survey, said it believes many expecting mothers evacuated from those areas to give birth elsewhere.
Iran conducts 4-day air defense drill --Exercise in east Iran aimed at 'heightening level of preparedness amid possible threats to airspace, nuclear centers' 18 Nov 2011 The Iranian army was set to launch an air defense drill Friday evening simulating an attack on the country's nuclear facilities, the Islamic Republic News Agency reported. According to IRNA, the four-day drill will be held in eastern Iran and stress "the characteristics of the Islamic Republic's defense doctrine in the framework of the heightened air defense alert level."

Airstrike Against Iranian Nuclear Facilities Could Kill 100s of North Koreans and Russians By John Daly 16 Nov 2011 As the drums for direct military intervention to derail Iran's purported covert military nuclear weapons program beat louder in both Jerusalem and Washington, an overlooked issue is the possibility of international "collateral damage," to use the Pentagon's favourite euphemism for civilian casualties. On 14 November South Korea's Chosun Ilbo stated, "Hundreds of North Korean scientists and engineers are working at about 10 nuclear and missile facilities in Iran, including Natanz..." Russian technicians also remain at Iran's first nuclear electrical energy facility, Bushehr. So, any aerial strikes against Iran's nuclear facilities could result in significant numbers of dead Russian and North Korean specialists as "collateral damage," with all the diplomatic uncertainties that might ensue from Moscow and Pyongyang as the body bags start arriving home.

Sources: U.S. to slap new sanctions on Iran 19 Nov 2011 The Obama administration plans to impose fresh sanctions against Iran's petrochemical industry, diplomatic sources familiar with the plans said Friday. U.S. sanctions already prohibit American companies from doing business with Iran. The goal of the new measures is to bar foreign companies from doing business with Iran's petrochemical industry by threatening them with being banned from U.S. markets [so US corpora-terrorists can make a killing], the sources said.
'Assassination plot was US fabrication' 18 Nov 2011 Iranian Majlis (Parliament) Speaker Ali Larijani has described the US allegation that Iran's Quds Force was involved in a plot to assassinate the Saudi Arabian ambassador to Washington as a "fabrication." Commenting on the US and Israeli media hype about the alleged plot to assassinate Saudi Ambassador Adel al-Jubeir, Larijani said the Quds Force is too powerful to resort to such clandestine operations, IRNA reported. The Iranian parliament speaker also warned the United States against trying to use such allegations to sully the image of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC). He added that the Iranian people will stand by the IRGC and all the armed forces of the country because they live among the people.

16 Detroit police officers leave shift in apparent protest 18 Nov 2011 Sixteen Detroit police officers assigned to the afternoon shift at the Northeastern District didn't complete their shift Friday as a part of an apparent protest over Mayor Dave Bing's proposed 10 percent pay cuts. Chief Ralph Godbee Jr. said he's going to have his internal affairs department investigate, but believes it is a "concerted effort isolated to one shift at one district." Bing's proposals called for givebacks of $40 million from city workers -- including police and fire employees -- as well as outsourcing services and major concessions from the city's unions. Appeals court weighs suits of four terrorists challenging Supermax move 18 Nov 2011 An attorney for four convicted terrorists asked a federal appellate court Thursday to find that the U.S. government violated the prisoners' due-process rights when it moved them to the federal Supermax prison in southern Colorado. The four men - Omar Rezaq, Ibrahim Elgabrowny, El-Sayyid Nosair, and Mohammed Saleh - were moved to Supermax from less-restrictive prisons between 1997 and 2003. The prisoners say they did nothing while in custody to warrant the step up in confinement and that the government gave them no legitimate chance to show they could be moved back to lower-security prisons.

US debt-reduction panel spirals toward failure --Barring breakthrough, super dictatorship to concede failure on Monday [Just save everyone time and declare failure *today.*] 20 Nov 2011 A months-long effort to set U.S. finances on a sustainable course appeared likely to end in failure on Monday as lawmakers in Congress were unable to bridge a deep divide over taxes and benefits. Republican and Democratic participants cast doubt on any possibility of agreement in appearances on Sunday political talk shows. Without some unexpected breakthrough, aides said, a 12-member bipartisan "super committee" tasked with drawing up a deficit-cutting plan will admit defeat on Monday.

Republican Financial Plans By Gail Collins 19 Nov 2011 Romney is the richest person running for president, worth somewhere between $190 million and $250 million... There are a lot of mysteries in the Mitt saga. For instance, if you were a very wealthy father of five energetic young boys, would you choose to spend your vacation driving the whole family to Canada with the dog strapped to the roof of the car? [No, but then again - Bank of America's Romney is a Grade 'A' sociopath.]

LOL! Herman Cain Suggests Taliban is Running Libya 18 Nov 2011 Herman Cain suggested Friday that the Taliban were playing a role in Libya's new government. The comment initially was seen as another foreign policy misstep from the Republican presidential candidate, but aides later pointed to a one-time Libyan rebel leader who fought in Afghanistan to back up Cain's claims. Cain has spent the week trying to calm jitters about his foreign policy after he struggled to answer whether he supported President Barack Obama's approach to Libya. He ended the week trying to blame reporters for the moment, which was captured on video and quickly spread around the Internet.
